Cutting board Amsterdam - oak

Beautiful, sturdy board from Dutch wood that you can use as a cheese board, snack board, bread board and tapas board. For these planks, CRE8 works together with the sawmill and social enterprise Binthout. They saved Dutch trees from the wood chipper and sawed them into planks. CRE8 then uses this for their products.

Cleaning your oak cutting board

After use, it is best to clean your cutting board by rinsing it and wiping it with a dish brush or cloth. Using dish soap is fine and will not harm the shelf. Dry well and then stand upright with the grain of the wood vertical. This reduces the chance of warping. DO NOT put the shelf in the dishwasher, this will cause cracks and the quality of the shelf will deteriorate quickly.

Maintaining your oak cutting board

Rub the board regularly with an odorless and tasteless oil, such as cherry kernel oil or linseed oil. The oil forms a protective layer on the board, which keeps it in good condition. Before oiling the oak plank, clean it thoroughly. You do this by slathering the plank with lemon juice. Then sprinkle salt on top and rub the lemon juice and salt over the board using, for example, a clean dishcloth. Let the oak plank rest for fifteen minutes and then rinse it off. Then dry the oak cutting board well. It is important that the board is completely dry before you put it in the oil.
