Navigating through Amsterdam’s jumble of streets, it’s hard to believe it took to the end of the 18th century before the City Council decided to start affixing street signs to corner buildings. Today, Amsterdam has more than 4,500 streets and as many signs telling residents and visitors alike where they are. These highly recognisable enamelled signs with their characteristic blue colour and standardised capitalized font inspired us to design a fashionable series of mugs.
