Everything about Uitgeverij WBOOKS

Succesful merger

With great passion, the WBooks team creates high quality and beautiful books on culture. Many of the publications by WBooks are published in collaboration with famous and lesser-known museums in the Netherlands, including the Drenthe Museum, the Allard Pierson Museum and Museum Boerhaave, and major cultural institutions such as the National Office of Cultural Heritage. In 1836, the foundation for WBOOKS publishers was laid by Waanders Publishers. In 2010, Waanders Publishers merged with art and lifestyle-related publishing house d'jonge Hond. Today, more than 175 years later, both publishers have merged under the name WBooks and are located in Zwolle. Apart from various book titles, WBOOKS also publishes the 'Museum Magazine', the largest art magazine in the Netherlands. Readers of this magazine receive a free museum and exhibition calendar; the most comprehensive overview of exhibitions with all dates, museum addresses and galleries in one guide. Part of the Museum Magazine is the digital art and culture platform Museumtijdschrift.nl, along with the companion Museumtijdschrift app.
