The Carry On Big candlestick is designed by Peter van de Water for the Dutch design label Goods. It is the large version of the Carry on candlestick, a minimalist version of the sconce candlestick that was used when there was no electric light yet. You carried the light in front of you, with the index finger in the appropriate hole. This is not recommended with the Carry On Big candlestick, because it weighs more than 6 kilograms. Peter van de Water designed the Carry On candlestick in a sleek design and opted for a cool interplay of lines. This large designer candlestick is - excluding candle - 30 cm high and has a base with a diameter of 33 cm. Made of black (Ral 7021) powder coated steel. The Carry On Big is suitable for candles with a diameter of 5 cm.

Peter van de Water graduated in 1994 in architectural design from the art academy St. Joost in Breda. In 2000 he founded his own design studio. His designs are distinguished by their intelligent simplicity. They must be contemporary, but also have a timeless quality. Peter van de Water bases his designs on a single strong idea that he carefully develops. He processes his ideas into recognizable, sometimes iconic designs. The path from the idea to the finished product is a perfect combination of aesthetics, function & construction. It is also an adventurous path, looking for new solutions, discovering new techniques, being aware of the consequences of the choices you make, learning. For Peter van de Water, designing is a constant learning process, with every step the foundation becomes stronger. The thought that the best is yet to come keeps him highly motivated to do what he loves most. Create new designs. In his design studio in his beloved neighborhood Oud-west in Amsterdam.
