Everything about IXXI design

IXXI wall decorations make art accessible to a wider audience

IXXI is a flexible wall system, which consists of printed square cards that can be combined with torque crosses. The IXXI is named after the torque cross.

Image Database

Use your own photos for a collage or photo enlargement, or choose existing images from the constantly updated IXXI image bank. IXXI has access to the image databases of designers, photo agencies and top museums such as the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, National Gallery, London, Getty Images and Museo Nacional del Prado. Thus making it is possible to hang your own Milkmaid by Vermeer in the toilet.

The artwork in no time

In addition, the designers of IXXI have a special collection of the most beautiful images in fixed proportions. A true work of art on your wall, in no time and for affordable prices. Use your creativity and create your own IXXI. The IXXI can be easily customized online using color filters, frames, text blocks or by extending your photos over multiple IXXI cards.

Origins and its first award

In the summer of 2009, spatial designers Paulien and Eric (Studio Parade) and graphic designer Roel Vaessen met for a project for the province of Noord-Brabant connecting 20,000 cards in a flexible manner. To do this, they came up with the idea to use torque cross. Soon after, the IXXI wall system was conceived. The idea was nominated for the Dutch Design Awards.
